On September 25, ELC marked five decades of advancing education justice for children across Pennsylvania. The special celebration brought together our biggest champions for an unforgettable night of meaningful conversation and connection, inspiration and impact.
We were thrilled to share more about ELC’s ongoing initiatives to advance education justice with 450 guests and to recognize our generous partners who make this work possible — now and into the future.
With your support, ELC is better equipped to meet the demand for our direct services, address systemic barriers that prevent all students from thriving, and promote the adoption of policies and practices that will create inclusive, positive school climates.
Our 2025 honorees
During our celebration, we proudly honored three visionary changemakers: Jolley Bruce Christman, a longtime advocate of education equity; civic leader and ELC champion Jennifer Rice; and our steadfast partner, the William Penn Foundation, whose support has been truly transformative.

About our 2025 venue
Built in 1923, a half century before ELC was launched, the Switch House was once a formidable power station supplying electricity throughout Philadelphia. We were thrilled to host this year’s special milestone at this newly renovated, historic venue.
